CV Tips
Remember, CV's are a means to get you in the door, it's the first opportunity for you to really sell yourself, so do exactly that! Mention all your achievements in what ever areas you have improved on. Have you increased GP? Then put it on your CV. Have you increased sales whilst minimising costs in order to achieve an increase in GP? Then say so... What have you done in terms of training & development? Have you, researched, compiled, and delivered any training programs? Get down to specifics, this will impress and show tangible results.
Just remember, your CV should be designed to win you an interview with a potential employer. When you have achieved this, think about the following;
Interviews are a two-way thing. The client wants to make the right cultural/personality fit as well as ensuring you have the specific skills to do the job. Likewise you, the applicant, want to see if you are going to be happy working with them.
- Arrive 5-10 minutes early
- Create a good impression (dress smartly as for a business meeting.)
- Make eye contact and be aware of body language.
- Know the names and positions of the people interviewing you
- Relax and be yourself
